Looking to have a shot at trying your hand at The Division before the official release? Well, your chance is very near. The dates and details of the first beta for the game have been announced for all platforms. It is not a very lengthy session and access is not guaranteed unless you preorder the game.
UPDATE: The closed beta has concluded, but an open beta is planned for mid-February (details).
Here are the beta dates:
Xbox One – January 28th, 2016
Playstation 4 / PC – January 29th, 2016
Yes, Xbox users will actually get an extra day. The beta will conclude on January 31st which means Xbone players will have roughly 3-4 days to player whereas PC and PS4 users will only get 2-3 days of time with the game.
At this time no details have been released regarding what players will actually have access to during the course of the beta. We will add this information on this page once it becomes available. We’re hoping that the beta will offer both multiplayer and single-player modes, but it very well could only give gamers the ability to play one or the other.
Update: Info regarding the size of the beta and preloading have been announced.
Pre-Loading: Players on all platforms should be able to begin downloading the beta files 48 hours ahead of the actual play dates.
In order to secure a spot in the beta you’ll need to visit the official website and sign up. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game you will be put on a waiting list. If you do pre-order The Division, however, you should receive a code which can be entered for guaranteed access.
